Welcome to the NEW AEE West Region Site!
After a few moths of computer challenges, transitions and the development of AEE's new site, we are happy to once again have a fully functional website up and running. We will be slowly populating this site with useful information, resources and more. If you would like to contribute to the development of this site please contact Christian Itin who will be heading up this process. Please be patient with us as this process will take some time.
The West Region of the Association for Experiential Education (westaee) is made up of California, Nevada and Hawaii - making us a diverse and expansive region in people, programs and environments. We are a dedicated group of volunteers committed to the mission and vision of the Association and helping to actualize these in the West Region. Experiential education as a philosophy informs the practice of wide range of professionals in many fields. Our membership includes educators (K-12, higher education), human service professionals (social workers, counselors, psychologists, etc.), corporate trainers, outdoor & adventure professionals (ropes course & wilderness instructors), youth development workers (Girl and Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, YWCA and YMCA) and much more.
Our major event is an annual conference held in the spring. We also sponsor play days and other regional gatherings. There are many ways that you can get involved in the region and in promoting experiential education. This region is only as strong as the membership and those you volunteer your time. We hope you will get involved.
